Well, so far, he's holding up better than everyone's faves without releasing any music...

Yeah but he's had like three worldwide hits...and I get that his popularity can't exactly be measured by how his singles do on the charts but he hasn't had a (not really that) major hit since Never Say Never, over half a year ago, and people have pretty much forgotten about him. Let's just leave it at that because I don't want to get into a major argument with you...

People talk about him all of the time. Whenever there is a rumor about him and Selena breaking up, it flies to the VERY top of worldwide news on Google. That means that it has more articles about it published worldwide than any other story at the time.
Never Say Never wasn't even a hit, but it doesn't matter because his albums sell because he is Justin Bieber. Sure, he hasn't released any new music in a year, but in the interim he's released a crap remixes album that sold more copies than the albums of Britney Spears, Beyonce and Rihanna this year. He released the highest-grossing concert movie in US history. His perfume is breaking sales records. His power is immense. His name generates more money than Lady Gaga (though, unfortunately, he doesn't receive as high of a percentage of the money).

Justin Beiber is arguably the most popular artist in North America right now. Look at his album sales. Almost 8 million US in 2 years and a massive WW tour. Who else?

Well, he is in my avatar, and I have supported him since I joined ATRL.
I've said this several times as well, but I actually find that Justin Bieber is pretty well accepted among straight guys now. I actually find more resistance towards him from gays.

I actually think being a Christmas song will keep it from hitting #1, but I could be wrong & his fans may think it's "cute" & buy it in herds.
I don't like Christmas albums except for the classics, because now more than ever Christmas albums serve no other purpose than to get even more money from fans who will buy anything from the artist.

I agree, but I won't underestimate the power of the Beliebers. I think he should have released his urban album sooner, and then his Christmas album on Black Friday. He could have pulled in holiday sales for both of them.

Isn't Y, W & F a little bit controversial, talks about smoking weed? that's horrible IMO. the song is kinda catchy.

I knew the Bruno-featuring song gonna blow up the chart .. anything he is featured on will sell well, especially first week.

Well, that's a plus for the song if it blocks that. that line put me off because more than 50,000 people have died in Mexico in 2011 because of war on drugs that are send to USA and they're inciting that mentality? err let me stop here...

it better don't pass SLY.
I don't want after it passed SLY, then S&IKI passed SLY and become #1 once Y,W,F falls.

I think it's a serious bad message that it's trying to comunicate this song.. Seriously bad because it's not like a joke anymore
SAIKI tried to share another bad message: "Sex sells, so get naked! Show it!" Another bad message but less srrious I think

We can't do anything.. SLY won't be atop forever.. SAIKI and Y,W&F are coming for that spot and they are showing many potential

Oh, wow, YW&F sounds like a massive smash.
The content and the fact that it's really toned down are the only things that might keep it from smashing.
