I knew what he meant. Sorry all, just incredibly bummed out. This city is kind of small so we all had a connection to at least one of the victims. My boyfriend even goes to that university.

How small is the city? It isn't as small as Windsor I assume.. I mean it's still bad and all, I was just curious about Calgary's demographic and population!

Every town/city that one event that shakes things up.

Calgary has a population of about 1.2 million. The city grew pretty close after last June's disastrous flood. Close enough that when someone goes all Michael Myers at a house party it makes people mad and upset. I was even reading how the people who lived in that house went to both their neighbors and said they were having a party and told them they would try to not be too loud.

I found out today two of the victims, went to high school with me. The killer worked in the grocery store my boyfriend frequents after his classes. When I say this **** doesn't, it doesn't. Calgary usually only has 9-10 murders a year. (there was a period in 2005-2007 where it was double that due to the gang invasion.)

A frustrating note on this, is people are using this event to defend why people should be allowed to have guns.

Thats scary.. I am really sorry to hear.. I don't think I would take something like that lightly... that's really bad...

What upsets me the most is the fact that people actually think that having guns would make the situation better... it takes 1 gun to kill multiple people.. there is no way that making guns easier would make this situation better.. I just hate gun laws, and people who fight for easier access are just ignorant. I can't stand it

Anyways, I hope the city recovers as fast as possible... Calgary really has been having a tough 2 years
