it really shows that sia and katy don't work well together sia probably wanted to include a lot of deep/poetic metaphoirs but katy was like nah let's make sure the dumbest person in the world can relate to this song (:
though sia herself isn't that great of a writer either
Not defending the Tit but what songs does Sia have that are "deep"
"shine bright like a diamond"
"shoot me down but I won't fall"
Mia could have written those
You're dark grey like a storm cloud
Swelling up with rage that is desperate to be let out
And I know it's a heavy load carrying those tears around
Carrying those fears around, worry makes the world go round
well for starters chandelier is a fantasic pop song with great with lyrics something katy could only ever write in her dreams same for elastic heart
i mean sia's not that great of a writer either but she's still miles better than katy

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist, like it doesn't exist
I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
It's a great song but let's not get carried away...it wasn't groundbreaking

so? still my point stands it's a song about alcoholism something sia actually went through + chandelier has actual substance not some radio fluff with the intent of just latching onto every demographic there is like........unconditionally
also katy telling sia to dumb down cuz the kids wont get it obviously shows that she herself is dumbing down her lyrics for the gp maybe that girl from the matrix telling her poetic **** dont mean anything for radio got to her

Drag Tit...I agree but I just wanted to say Sia's pop isn't a second coming either. I love Sia and appreciate her work.
i was thinking earlier how i feel like the music landscape or at least the hot 100 changed so much everything is so minimalistic chill and cool...katy's brash poppy out there songs would sound very out of place compared to what's on the charts rn
Sia is overrated and I hope Katy never works with her again tbh
Her problem isn't that she's a bad lyricist. She excels with darker lyrical themes when she takes a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek approach like A Cup of Coffee. When she tries to be flat-out serious, we get ******** like Love Me and It Takes Two.

oh i agree i don't even love sia lol she's not the greatest writer either overtime you notice she just uses as much cliche's as katy but she mask it with her vocals .........something katy doesnt have so sia gets away with it
