I honestly think she will be able too. She has a lot of fans anticipating this album. Plus her fame has risen by a lot since "V" was released. She didn't even get her first magazine cover until a year after her album was released and almost 2 years after the first HSM movie.
I think "V" sold pretty well considering the promotion it got. She was on "tour" with the Cheetah Girls for a month and then she went on the HSM tour, but she only got to sing 3 songs from her own album. Her first single had good promo. She had tv apperances, radio interviews, and a music video. She even sung at that Jingle Ball tour and co-hosted TRL. She was in the middle of filming HSM2 when they released her 2nd single. She had no TV performances and only had a phone interview from the set plus a music video. The music video didn't get a proper premiere on MTV. All they showed was some 30 sec clip and had a viewer compare her video to Ashley Tisdale's "Be Good to Me" video. For some reason the video was pulled from the MTV voting list, but it made it to #10 a week after it was pulled.
Plus you need to keep in mind that Vanessa didn't spend a lot of time working on "V". She didn't even sign her record contract until early 2006. I think she spent 2 to 3 months recording her first album and then it was released that fall. Vanessa has been recording since September 2007. She probably started looking for songs/producers since this past summer. I think more time spent working on the album and bigger producers should help her.
As for anticipation...someone posted the link to a demo (song by another artist) that Vanessa might record for her album, and the song got 3000-4000 plays in under 24 hours.
As for peaks worldwide...
Come Back to Me also went to
#1 in Bulgaria.
She had a little promo outside the US but she didn't even visit any of the countries. She went to some countries outside the US for HSM promotion but that was it. She didn't have any time spent promoting her own album. Some people knew her name from HSM, but HSM didn't even air in many countries until after/around the time her album came out.
