As a new decade dawns on us, a new #1 also manifests itself. Vertical Horizon, who first rose to prominence 10 years ago with their hit "Everything You Want", and 10 years later, they score their first #1 on my chart with "The Middle Ground". The second single from their album "Burning The Days" has not been a success on the radio, but on my chart it has become their biggest hit.

Also approaching the top spot is The Saturdays; their previous biggest hit was "Issues", which peaked at #3. "Ego" rises to #2, and could end up becoming their first #1 if they keep up their momentum.

Three chart newcomers are also rising within the top 10; Canadian singer-songwriter Ash Richards (6-4), Australian singer-guitarist Orianthi (7-6) and American rock band Adelitas Way (32-7).

Pink rises to #11 with the seventh single, and fan favourite from her "Funhouse" album, "It's All Your Fault". The first three singles from the album all reached the top 10.

Timbaland and Katy Perry leap up from #31 to #12 with "If We Ever Meet Again"; Timbaland was last top 10 teaming up with OneRepublic on "Apologize" while Katy Perry was last top 10 with "Waking Up In Vegas".

Bon Jovi leaps 33-20 with their third straight top 20 hit from "The Circle", "Superman Tonight".

Carrie Underwood, Elin Lanto and Pearl Jam all enter the top 40.

Debuts include Ashley Tisdale, who had a top 10 hit last year with "It's Alright, It's OK" (#66), Mary J. Blige with her first hit of the 2010's (#67), Swedish dance singer Agnes Carlsson (#68), Canadian singer Lauren Christoff with her second chart appearance (#69), X Factor Joe McElderry with his Miley Cyrus remake (#79), pop/punk band Forever The Sickest Kids (#80), Leona Lewis with the theme from the movie "Avatar" (#87), Angels & Airwaves (#93), Keri Hilson gone dance/pop (#94), Shiny Toy Guns (#95), Disney star Selena Gomez (#96), progressive rockers Queensryche (#97), Christian teen pop group Pure NRG (#98), British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae (#99) and Australian band Short Stack (#100)
