"American Life" is a good album with very reflective lyrics and an commendable mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds. It also had a wonderful tour, which I've heard it's a fan favorite because of the set-list. It's a bit sad that albums like this one get eclipsed by controversy (much like it happened with Erotica), but she's Madonna and we can't blame her for following her guts.
