I didn't think Courtney's album was that bad. I liked how relatively scuzzy and unpolished the sound was, I just don't really think the album was really groundbreaking. It had its moments though.

Probably because her album stood out in sound. Nobody buzzy is really doing the jagged rock thing anymore.

Mortal Man only works if you're listening to the album as a whole (kind of like some other tracks on TPAB). I never really skip the Tupac skit because I think it's important and has a message behind it. It's a highlight nonetheless.

It's a really interesting discussion. It's the unending "When **** hit the fan, is you still a fan?

Also, I love how when I was introduced to Sleater-Kinney (in This WAS 2005, I think) they were my clear least favorite. Now, I'm fanning out. I just love little 360 turnarounds like that.

I was introduced to them in that same rate and I was shocked by how much I liked that album. Turns out they've become one of my favourite bands and The Woods is my favourite album of theirs!
