Saying that she's one of the best around may be an understatement. Carrie has only been around since 2005 and already she's having a positive impact. Now she will enter her 5th year in the biz and things will get serious as her 3rd album draws near.


29. Demi Lovato
Whether it's singing, acting or guitar-playing, Demetria Lovato aka Demi is gonna be a name to watch over the years. Not that I (Kendra speaking) will really follow her, I will wish her the best.


28. Britt Nicole
My goodness, Britt Nicole has had so many mentions in 2008. As for people talked about in 2008, she's #28 on the list. These polls are unique indeed. Anyway, Britt's debut album Say It was released reportedly in 2007. Believe was a MWC monster.


27. Britney Spears
The other Britt on this list. This is the most famous one. Britney kept a low profile until Circus came out and boom boom boom, she's starting to make some noise. Thanks to her #1 single Womanizer, she told us, 'Beyonce fans listen, hate on me all you want because you know I only get stronger that way.'


26. Brigitte Stavaruk
Open up and say aah! That's what Brigitte might make you do. The cute little Aussie reality star from the now-defunct Aussie version of Big Brother made a statement in 2008 and will look for 2009 to be bigger than before. Yeah, it's like that y'all.


25. Lady GaGa
Who couldn't go gaga for GaGa? Easy, people who were drunk to dance. Lady GaGa is a very talented singer/dancer and even does a bit of keyboards. You may think she's nuts but hey, I say she's a hitmaker in the making. I think 2009 will be bigger for her.


24. Ne-Yo
It's the Year Of The Gentleman and well, he went all dance-pop on us with Closer and is trying to make a statement proving that he's not a failure. We wish him the best.


23. Mike Matusow
Known as The Mouth, this 3-time World Series Of Poker bracelet winner cemented his status as one of the best by winning that 3rd bracelet at this year's WSOP and finished 30th in the Main Event and it's the 3rd time in the last 5 years that Matusow cashed and finished higher than Phil Hellmuth, not to mention 2 top 30 finishes in that stretch. Who says poker isn't profitable?


22. Kendra Morris
Yeah it's me (Kendra speaking) and I have to say I'm happy to be here. When you followed me on Redemption Song, I took you on a journey through my ultimate highs and lows. I did 4 songs and was gone on Week 4 when I was so pissed off. I thought I nailed my performance, judges thought otherwise and boom, I left in a flash. Sure he's had his issues before, but towards the end of 2008 things simmered down as far as the bad stuff goes and he welcomed more positivity in his life. He's got a new CD, a new single in Right Now and appears on tracks by Lady GaGa and Colby O'Donis. You'd think he rest? No.


19. Erick Lindgren
He was 2008 World Series Of Poker Player Of The Year. E-Dog as they call him is approaching his 30s and finally won his first bracelet in 2008 in the Limit/No Limit Hold Em event, beating out an elite final table that included Howard Lederer, Roland De Wolfe and Chino Rheem.


18. Dan Gheesling
The winner of Big Brother 10 himself. What more needs to be said? He's a likable guy who deserved his win.


17. Jessica Kinni
Of all the VH1 stars, the fans voted her #1. I know you're thinking, 'Huh?' Well, they love Jessica. They want more Jessica in 2009. They will soon, don't worry.


16. Stephanie McIntosh
Stephanie had a solid 2008 as far as personal chart success goes for Mike. #4 and #8 for 2008 is impressive. We're waiting on your next move Steph!


15. Vanessa Rousso
Sort of had a quiet year, but she left her mark. Cashed in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, I heard she won a big time tournament overseas. I don't have details on that though. Mike says that she respects Vanessa AKA Lady Maverick a lot.

13. Leona Lewis
You know that 2008 was big for my girl Leona Lewis. This popstar from the United Kingdom took the world by storm with Bleeding Love and the CD Spirit. Best New Artist of 2008? Mike doesn't think so for some odd reason, he says Lights or Sara Bareilles. I have no beef with that, but I don't understand why he chooses Lights over Leona.


12. Sharon Obermueller
This was Mike's #1 Reality Star of 2008. I disagree with that. I mean, she's cute and all but she's not the best of the best IMO. (this is Kendra speaking here of course) She finished 4th on Big Brother 9.


11. Jazmin Conte
My girl Jazmin (Kendra speaking) made it to 3rd place on Redemption Song. This Jersey girl made such an impact. He was the 2008 WSOP Main Event Champion winning $9.1M. He became the Youngest Main Event winner of all-time beating Phil Hellmuth.


9. Rihanna
Yeah, Rihanna had a 2008 to remember if you're not talking about Mike's personal chart. Her 2008 had spawned several hits including Disturbia and Take A Bow...plus the somewhat bland Rehab.


8. Angelica Rose
I myself (Kendra speaking) was somewhat harsh towards Angelica on the show. I criticized her slightly on Episode 8 and she might've thought I pissed her off. Well hey, I was still a bit steaming after my Episode 4 elimination....I have since apologized to her for my silliness. Anyway, Angelica and Jazmin are still rivals and still respect each other....even though they did go at it the first 6 episodes of the show. 7. Taylor Swift
She may be one of the best young singer/guitarists around. Can you picture me doing Country? If Mixi struggled with it, I fear I might struggle much more. Anyway, her album is Fearless and is a must-get. Don't miss out on Tay-Tay!


6. Barack Obama
Yeah I know, how is he NOT #1? Well, we did poll our IDRL & MWC audience and incredibly, not everyone thought he should be #1. Shocker huh? Well, he's gonna be our next president.


5. Miley Cyrus
Smiley Cyrus herself checks in at #5 for 2008. Born Destiney Hope Cyrus, she has become one of the biggest names in the music industry. Breakout is her CD and for you Disney fans, get it! Don't miss out on this gem. Miss Miley is here to stay.


4. Sara Bareilles
If there's one thing we learned in 2008, it's that Sara Bareilles to many is the Best New Artist of 2008. Some say Leona though, some say Lights. Either way, Sara had a massive 2008 with Love Song ruling the roost. Sara is a talented singer indeed.


3. Phil Hellmuth
Nobody expects Phil to be calm, cool and collective. But nobody certainly expected him to explode with an incredible tirade that lead to him calling Cristian Dragomir an idiot 5 times which was uncalled for and he was given a penalty, which he had nixed. However, he did finish 45th in the WSOP Main Event and has won 11 bracelets, the first year he didn't win a bracelet since 2005.


2. Katy Perry
Katy's obviously here for reasons you can figure out, right? WHAT!? Seriously, if you don't know who she is you REALLY must have been living under a rock. Hello? I Kissed A Girl! Hot N Cold! New song Thinking Of You! What more do you need? How about Grammy-nominated artist? Katy's arguably considered one of the best new singers of 2008, if not one of the best overall.


1. Mixi Demner
REMEMBER (Kendra speaking), this is the MWC/IDRL audience we're polling and they all of a sudden went ballistic for Mixi! She has that magical power! I Miss Those Days is truly fire! That's my girl for you! ADD HER ON MYSPACE PLEASE & NO HATEMAIL! http://www.myspace.com/mixiofficial check her jammies please! She won Redemption Song and deserved it. Her voice is unmistakable, her style is incredible, her talent is so amazing and her hair is epic goodness. I mean, there's nothing bad I can say or Mike can say about Mixi!
