Some people are acting like this show isn't about twists when it was always about that.

Also, Ted and Robin always loved each other and Ted always put Robin first like what the hell is the big fuzz about... it was like Ross and Rachel, the writers just made it less obvious.

It was an amazing series finale and I couldn't be more satisfied.

I can understand if you haven't seen SFU, but in terms of a finale covering many years and thoroughly wrapping things up, nothing touches that show's finale.

You should watch the show if you have spare time to start a new show, it's great.



Sidenote, I read an interview w/ Josh Radnor yesterday where he said he thought this finale was the most expansive ever in terms of years covered and my first thought was "probably not, when SFU exists."


My only complaint about the finale was I think the divorce issue was a bit rushed and it could have used a funeral for the Mother, but all in all, the finale was aceptable. At least a solid 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Last episode when Robin asked Ted to run away with her, I was hoping she'd say yes and do it. I'm so happy they got together. I don't agree with everyone getting mad at the mother dying. It was obvious it was going to happen. Ted was telling this story to show his kids how much Tracy meant to him, and that him wanting to date Robin is not him just forgetting her. Fans of the show should know this. You wouldn't start a story of how you met your wife with a story about your ex. It doesn't make sense. LONG LIVE ROBIN & TED

If the mother was able to move on from Max (her previous bf/husband who died) and fall in love with Ted, then she would probably want Ted to do the same with Robin. It all makes sense.

I completely agree with this. I love this show and the finale wasn't terrible, but I would've much rather had at least the second half of this season expand on everything the finale put out there. I guess they wanted to keep that group dynamic all the way up to the end.

To me, Tracy is Ted's true love. They were literally written to be soul mates. But thinking about it, the show to me tells us that your true love may be your true love, but they are not invincible. Anything can happen in life and that is why you must cherish every moment you have with any person you love in your life. It's not realistic for everyone's true love to last forever. I don't feel like Robin is Ted's true love, but if you love someone, why not be with them? Do whatever it takes to be happy.

I was really happy with the finale. I mean it makes sense, you don't call a show "How I Met Your Mother" and don't introduce her until the last season. Part of me was bothered because I really loved Barney and Robin.

My only problem is how this entire season was focused on a wedding that ended up in a divorce, just didn't make a lot of sense. Plus Barney's proposal and wedding dinner was too cute!

I like how Barney went through countless women, but his daughter is the one that changed him and is the "love of his life". That was pretty cute.

But its seriously sad the show is done

Friends with better lives was pretty funny, good cast, hope they progress with the plot

I haven't been this upset about a show ending since Friends.

I thought they could've done more with the finale but It was good for the most part, I was kinda sad that the Mother died but love that Robin and Ted ended up together in the end.

I always wondered how they would do the finale with them looking much older now than they did in the first season/when he's telling the story.

It didn't really bother me that Barney & Robin didn't end up together. Divorce happens sometimes and it falls apart but it would have been better if the entire season hadn't been about their wedding only to tell us they got divorced.

I didn't like that Ted & Robin got back together though - it's like they lost all their character development of the past few years. By setting the ending in stone back in 2006 or whenever it was they filmed the final scene with Ted's kids it didn't allow them to change the ending to fit the way the story had progressed and to acknowledge that Ted & Robin had changed.

I've gotta admit the finale was kinda disappointing. It wasn't bad but I thought that the divorce made all of season 9 which spent so much time building up to the wedding seem pointless and it felt quite rushed especially when he was talking about the mother's death. Also I think Ted and Robin is just a bad idea and it's been proven countless times they don't fit but I can understand it. I still like Robin and Barney together and I felt bad for them two. I know Robin gets Ted in the end but what about them 14 years of loneliness and I guess Barney has his daughter but it doesn't say whether he gets married or anything. On a positive note I loved all the scenes between Tracey and Ted (they have great chemistry) and I enjoyed a lot of the jokes (my favourite being Marshall's "the birth of her ex-husband's love child is a bit of a stretch but yeah baby..."). I guess it's realistic though.

They probably filmed multiple endings but still it was good they kept so quiet about the possibilities.
