I don't like NYE because I never have anything to do. I'm sure if I constantly went to NYE parties it wouldn't be bad. I hate the winter time, but don't mind the week of Christmas/New Years.
NYE is my family's fave tradition. The amount of food are twice compared to Xmas and we stay late at night to greet each other when the clock hits 12:00 mn...
on Christmas, my family could food but they sleep too early.
ugh I always feel depressed on New Years as well. I think it's mainly because of the whole January slump thing where people feel down because the excitement of the holidays are over.
January till March byE, someone needs to add a fake holiday in February for the hell of it.
The holidays are alright. I'm very european - even though I live Canada, I'm only 2nd generation Canadian - so things get pretty riot-y around the holidays. A lot family politics, pretentious attitudes, the oblivious grandmothers that are asking too many questions, and too many people in one house all pretending to be cheeky.
I believe everyone becomes a little celebrity during the holidays. You sort of just got to show up, wave, smile, and go home.
