What The Carters dont realise is that they are indirectly contributing to piracy growth rate. The average consumer does not like to feel compelled into a product or service so rather than give to tidal they'll either sign up with no intent of staying on past the free trial or just dl it illegally esp as it's not available anywhere else instantly. When they took over Tidal, they said it was about giving value to their art but instead they've been working against music selling mediums like iTunes and physical retailers instead of with them. Thanks to tidal Kanye, Beyonce and Rihanna won't accumulate majority of their potential sales. The fact that tidal is lacking in the transparency and integrity facets is a different topic altogether.
