I actually don't care if the singer hits very high note. I prefer more the effectivity of his/her delivery and how he/she showcases the attitude or emotion in his/her songs. Like Taylor, I love how she sang her songs, specially the slower ones such as Last Kiss and All Too Well.
It's not that I choose to listen to weaker vocalists, it's just that their music and their whole brand is more interesting to me. Funny how that works though.
Considering my faves are Taylor and Madonna, I'd say I prefer them lol but I stan for Mariah and Florence so so I guess it's the emotion they give and they all deliver thay in lyrics and vocals
I prefer vocalists that can deliver proper emotion. Tell me a story. But I like some weaker singers as well, just be able to be able to tell your story or whatever you're singing convincingly. I do agree that for most people the tone is more important.
Yes IMO.
For some reason, girls with weak vocals have a far better discography than girls with good vocals.
Britney, Selena, Rihanna, JLo >>>>>> Christina, Mariah, Whitney, Beyoncé
Also I think those who only stan for perfect vocalists are often people who can't feel music and thus can only be impressed by screams and good coreographies.
