Demi is very talented but her image is not solid. she goes sexy then vulnerable then confident. its hard to really understand what she is trying to do. I really like her music though.

1) The CFTS video sucked. I can't believe she tarnished the song with such a generic video.
2) There was nothing else of quality on the album.
3) She failed to adhere to the theme of her album (Confident) because she was anything but during the entire duration of the album cycle. She's too fragile to ever see success.

Ok, seriously, she's not sezy, not even close. She doesn't have boos so the sexy image doesn't suit her.

Plus, she often oversings which makes her song sounds very loud in a negative way. Stone Cold is a beautiful song but the way she sang it makes me feel like she's trying way too hard to hit the high note and makes the song much less beautiful than it should be.

Another reason is she is kind of bitchy sometimes. Look at the way she attacked Taylor Swift when Taylor donated to Ke$ha. I mean, come on, i don't care whether Taylor is fake or not, it's a nice thing that someone should do.

The music was horrible, and not what people wanted from her. Or expected from her. You can't be known for vocals (compared to her contemporaries) and release a Katy Perry reject track. You can't have a rough life story (that everyone knows about by now) and release an entire album full of meaningless fluff with 10 other writers on it. You can't have an image as a singer-songwriter and/or power pop type (at least that's how I thought of her before this) and then put on a bunch of awkward, OTT performances of said KP reject track. Everything she could've did wrong, she did wrong. She's trying to correct it w/Stone Cold, but that song is horrible and by far the worst her voice has ever sounded on a studio track. And I love Demi's voice, even when I don't like the music. So now doesn't even have that to fall back on. Sorry for the essay, but Demi is just so disappointing. (But her personality and look are fine The average person dgaf about what she's doing on twitter or whatever.)

Her music has never been good. She just doesn't bring anything unique or worthwhile to pop beyond her voice. Which is itself fairly divisive and not universally appealing. She needs a great album to really break out.

I'm kinda surprised that it didn't manage to be as successful as her other attempts without the "grown up" image.

Maybe she/her team aimed for the wrong demographic? I personally loved the album and felt like it is definitely a milestone for her. The songs are strong and well produced imo.

Regarding her single choices, I think she/her team picked good songs off the album to attract the GP. Maybe the whole "poot/delete it fat" thing made her lose some credibility in the public eye.

Idk, I really really like Demi and all her music, but she just tries too hard sometimes... she should have just let her work speak for itself and stopped with the badass/idontgiveafu** attitude she was trying to shove down everyone's throat.

She is not releasing the right singles. She needs to release songs like "Mr. Hughes" as singles instead!

Her music is uninteresting, her videos are uninteresting, and she as a person...is not likeable. There is something really corny about her too despite being a better vocalist than many of her peers. Mainly, the music just isn't it.

She kinda like Bey... She can play sexy at the VMA and pull a Celine Dion at the Grammy moment later...




Never listened to her music tho and im kinda fine with that...
