FINALLY. Its been TWO YEARS since her debut single came out around this time. Hopefully, California Girls will be some sort of "Stupid Girls"-esque song of the summer.

Katy Perry shot the official artwork for her new single today (April 28th), announcing via her Twitter that there “couldn’t be more color” in the shoot and then tweeting a pic of her hot pink polka dot nails.

The single is rumored to premiere next month, but no other details have been revealed yet.

Besides running around and doing photoshoots Katy is also still recording her new album, hitting the studio with urban-pop producer Darkchild this week to lay down some tracks.

The new album is inspired by “Abba”, the “90’s” and “The Cardigans”, and will also feature production from Max Martin & Doctor Luke, The-Dream & Tricky, Greg Kurstin and possible Ryan Tedder and Taio Cruz.
