But I am entitled to my opinion and you were being far too defensive. I never said Demi deserved that over Selena, you assume that to continue a fight, which was stupid and ultimately ruined this thread. People are allowed to have an opinion different to yours, you don't have to fight them because of it.
I think after awhile, it just became an argument in regards to the success. You were calling Selena a flop and that's not true as she has had a hit single and solid album sales.
Demi Lovato has a killer voice and helps to write her tracks. She is more musically talented than either of the other disney girls.
Selena Gomez is prettier and has a great album under her belt, even if she can't sing it live to save a puppy's life. I prefer Selena overall. Ringing in professionals to write the music resulted in some great tracks: Falling Down, Kiss & Tell, Naturally, More and Stop and Erase, particularly.
Looking forward to the new album and I hope it's as fun to listen to as Can't Be Tamed.
Haha. Selena should stay off talent shows until she has had enough training to actually outshine the contestants. So far her performances of Falling Down and R&R have been plain . . . 'uninspired'.

I agree, she isn't good live, but hopefully she'll improve soon
Selena's songs sell really well on iTunes, even with not the best radio support. Naturally went platinum, I believe. Round & Round, her current single, is Top 20 on iTunes without much radio play.

Yes but you must give her props for actually singing live.

Of course. I think her biggest problem is her nerves. She doesn't project very well, but I have heard clips of her singing live (not in front of a crowd) where she can really belt. I think she falls into the trap of being so scared to actually fill the room with her voice that she can't really break out of head voice.

Yeah but that may be because of the success of "Naturally." "Falling Down" didn't exactly sell that well.

That may be true because in some of her earlier performances you can see that she is nervous. I think she gets nervous performing on talent shows because she knows that there are more talented individuals that just barely performed. She should start performing on daytime shows and late night shows.

The performance she did on GMTV (British breakfast show) I noticed that she actually sounded much better. She sang Naturally.
Still not brilliant, and helped alot by backing vocals on the chorus, but better.
