Lots of people LOVED Coven! In fact, it slew in a whole new era of the series and fans! It's definitely not as good as the first two seasons in terms of horror but it def was VERY entertaining!

Freakshow was too much.. So much happening.. it just seemed like they wanted to add so many WTF moments that it was hard to have any sort of feeling or emotion for any certain thing..

Hotel was perfect for me.. Coven and Hotel are the best seasons.

People saying coven was the worst

Yes it had its faults, like every other season, but at least it was actually interesting and fun.
The New Orleans setting was great and the characters are a lot more interesting than Hotels (I haven't seen all of freak show yet so I can't judge that). Who doesn't love witches and voodoo?
Plus it had the best music.

Hotel had over the top things as well, but it wasn't as frequent as Freakshow.

Freakshow had SO much murder, craziness, psycho people etc going on at one time that it made the sad moments hard to feel any emotion towards, and vice versa. I don't know if you can get what I'm saying, but it was just so many ridiculous moments in Freakshow happening at one time.. where as Hotel at least everything was less stressful and made more sense.
