Why would skinny people be shamed?
Being skinny is healthy compared to being obese.
It's like someone getting shamed for looking good.
I don't get it.
Skinny-shaming is sadly the norm, so when it happens you probably don't take notice of it.
Quote:
**** them skinny bitches,
**** them skinny bitches in the club
I wanna see all the big fat ass bitches in the mother****ing club
**** you if you skinny bitches. What? Yeah. Ha-ha, ha...
Society has a tendency to mollycoddle and will act as through being overweight is healthy whilst policing smokers and constantly telling them that they're going to die.
1) making fun of anyone's body isn't "okay" 2) but being called too skinny and being called fat are not even remotely equivalent. most people would choose to be thin over fat any day, because society makes it clear that being fat is repulsive and undesirable. and idk where you're from but I see people being dragged for being overweight (to their faces) all the time, so that last bit just isn't true. and this is coming from someone that gets "skinny-shamed" at most family gatherings lol
I don't personally like to shame anyone for their weight, fat or skinny; however, I can see why shaming someone who is fat is really mean, considering they're already being told by media and society that they're too fat, vs. skinny people who are not told anything of the sort.
IDK. It's weird to me. Always found it strange how Internet SJWs cling to Nicki Minaj as if she's some great feminist icon when she has lyrics like "**** them skinny bitches!"
I guess humanity is just inherently hypocritical.
Oh my god.
You have Nicki on your mind 24/7 don't you?
Most people are bullied for being overweight. Less people have been bullied for being underweight.
Exactly. I'm not saying it never happens to underweight people but it's far less common.
I kind of feel like this is a lesser version of "reverse racism" in that it's made up by pressed slim people when they get called out for being nasty ****s about those who are overweight.
She's just the best example of how a public figure can skinny-shame and get away with it.
If it were a skinny person declaring "**** you, fat bitches!" he or she would be slaughtered by the public and the media.
It was about time someone stood up for those who aren't a conventional model size. So I thank Nicki for saying it and I think it was an important moment.

Important moment?
I bet you think the skinny shaming part was necessary, right?
Okay but hear me out. "Skinny shaming" will never be comparable to fat shaming, at all in any way. However, society doesn't have a great attitude towards skinny men. I don't think it's anything like being overweight and being shamed for that which is horrible. But, I can sort of see how "skinny shaming" exists for men. (Although I wouldn't use those words.)
Ignorant where? Mean spirited maybe, but ignorant? Nah.
We should start charging people at restaurants by their weight relative to their height
hop on the scale before you pay, fat
we should also tax them more money for healthcare just like we do smokers

See Atrl, they drag anyone by calling them twinks.
