45. Runnin' (Lose It All) - Naughty Boy, Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin
What an unexpected collaboration? After everything that happened with Zayn and Naughty Boy, I wouldn't think Beyonce would work with him but I'm very happy she did. This song is the perfect direction for Beyonce to go IMO, and though I know she won't fully go this genre, it's nice that she's done one song. The music video is also stunning.
44. Alive - Sia
Sia's supposed track for Adele. It wouldn't sound that great on Adele IMO, listening to it makes it seem just perfect for Sia's voice. The bridge in this song is absolutely insane, and I love watching all her live performances to this (more so than the music video itself). I wish she would be as successful with this song as she was with Chandelier though.
43. The Hanging Tree (Rebel Remix) - James Newton Howard, Jennifer Lawrence
This must be the most unexpected song to smash in the past year. A song from a score, not even a soundtrack, that originally has no real beat and just has Jennifer Lawrence singing with a group in the background at the end got remixed just enough to make it more accessible but keeps the original feeling of the song. Poor Lorde, was outshined with her #34 charting first single from the soundtrack with this #12 charting remixed score.
42. Ex's & Oh's - Elle King
This was a normal radio song for me until Halloween, and then I saw a drag performance to this and it made me fall in love. The spunk and personality that queen had perfectly related to the song and made it so much more appealing to me. I still feel a little strange about the fact that this is Rob Schneider's daughter though, nnn.
41. Shine - Years & Years
This is the first of three songs from Communion on my list. They're debut was exactly the genre of music I love, a dancey 80s and 90s influence house/pop album. Shine is more laid back than some of the other tracks on the album, but it builds perfectly to the chorus.
The first song I heard from his was On The Regular, which low key gave me hope that I could become a successful rapper in my life. But this album is more than that song. Call It Off sounds like a mix of an original La Roux with an Icona Pop hit. Make A Scene sounds like music Kesha should make. Head in the Clouds really shows off his voice the best IMO. A solid listen.
10. Feel It In My Bones - Tiesto, Tegan & Sara (2009)
Wow, this song is always so insane, it's become my favorite Tiesto song and my favorite Tegan & Sara song. This music video is also one of my favorites of all time, it's simple but eye catching enough and fits perfectly with the song. I had forgot about this song for several years since my raver days but this year it made quite the comeback.
Your first update > this one, but they both have good songs! I'm happy Love Now gets more appreciation, I agree about it being a hidden gem in that album. CFMF and FWB are also songs I absolutely love.
Yay @ Can't Feel My Face. Definitely deserving and I loved it for like the first few weeks, but then it got wayyyy overplayed here so that's why it didn't quite make my top 100
I liked the Bey song but it got old faster than I would have liked.
Shamir slays! OMG, Ke$ha would actually slay that song too,it's very appropros for her image.
