!!!! I'm annoyed w/ Camila and what she's choosing to do right now but I don't truly have anything against her. I hope this is a one time thing and they can at least release a stellar sophomore album and at least try to establish themselves entirely before they run off doing solo music.
This is the thing. I'm not a fan of their music but I enjoy hearing the story of the group because of all the drama and the mad fan support despite the poor label etc. They've barely just started out and are only coming up to their second album and already there's loads of discussion on their solo careers. Like does that not feel like a slap in the face for fans who have been loyal since they left XF? Their fanbase have done wonders for them and this is how they get repaid.
Pretty much if everyone is trying to be their own star, drama is bound to happen. I think 5H really needs to change that, starting with their style
When I listen to LM albums, most of the songs have the girls sing TOGETHER. While in Reflection, it's mostly just solo parts combined together. The only song that truly feel like a group song is Body Rock where you can hear all the girls singing and harmonizing in the chorus
You can't have a strong girlgroup if one member (ala Camila) is pushed forward too much
And another factor: group of 4 is always stronger than group of 5.

The lack of harmonizing is a really huge thing though.
Ehhh Little mix have been trying to crack America since like 3 years ago? or is it two? something like that. The difference is they are more mature and a bit older than 5H(besides Ally). They actually have a strong bond and a fanbase that loves them equally whereas 5H have a strong fanbase that stans for them as a whole but also really competitive because each girls have their own stans.
I don't think Little Mix nor their fanbase would have any problem with any of the LM girls doing a side project becuaselike I said their fanbase and the group itself would support it.

and that is why everyone is so up in arms about this... especially when her loyalty to the group seemed to have been wavering w/ her posting questionable tweets and cropping the girls out of M&G pics on her IG, posting captions about fans like they came to see only her etc. If her head was fully in the group, this wouldn't be that big of a deal. If Ally did this, sure, people would still be upset but it wouldn't be as bad bc she loves being in the group the most and wants the group to be successful the most.
That's where them and Little Mix differ. Little Mix are basically 4 Allys

And then you have Girls Aloud where Nadine was always the lead and pushed as the lead then Cheryl but most girls had a part on every song. Nadine was pushed as the lead but Cheryl always got the most attention by the media.
Little Mix and Spice Girls are the ones I can think of right now that dont really have a lead or someone that was pushed/shined more than the others.
Let's start, Ally always proving she's the vocalist, Camila always interrupting everyone solos, Lauren doesn't even care at this point, Dinorah (I think that's her name?) being racists and Normani trying to Beyoncé, they simply don't know how to work together and they still need a memorable performance to even go solo, while you see LM doing great performances on The X-Factor and just enjoy working together (so far, let's not forget Jade wants to go solo)
Doing a solo collab or even a solo single doesn't mean someone is trying to go solo. People do it in Asia all the time, even putting out full albums while staying in the group.

DC is Beyonce + Kelly and some poor background singers And with a group of 2 and a half girl, there really can't be much competition to shine and much drama going on
PCD is Nicole + background dancers the other girls HATE Nicole
Girls Aloud didn't even have bound like 5H and again, it seems like UK girls can work together better than US girls

Honestly I used to love 5h but it all went down hill when camila started being a bitch and really having a Huge ego because she is popular on social media.
I feel like this group won't last beyond 2017, and it's all because of the management, who gave 1 girl 6373837 solos, camila who has a larger than life ego and is always throwing it on the girls faces that she is loved.
LM genuely are friends and they love each other..... Very supportive girls and NOT even one of them, not even perrie want to be a star. They want to succeed together.

I'm pretty much a fan of LM since their debut. And if 5H breaks up before they deliver like 5 albums, I will stan LM instead Seriously, get your **** together girls
but Superbitch.... although Bey was pushed as the lead in DC, she still didn't take kindly to it when people tried to talk down the other members. Yeah, they were hella messy in the beginning but once the rotten apples who weren't doing any work or trying to contribute yet alone have the talent to do so were removed, it's been smooth sailing ever since and everyone got equal parts on the albums.... their heads were IN IT and they weren't all trying to be solo artists. Hell, Bey was the last to put out a solo album.
PCD was hella messy so still not a good example. Melody would battle Nicole on stage in every performance trying to outsing her and outdance her
