I would just like to point out, but aren't a lot of these school shooters pretty crime-free until..yeah? (Or at least felony free, I doubt we'll block people from buying guns for jaywalking)
This is kinda where I think a basic psych evaluation might be better (to diagnose if you're a sociopath/psychopath/some other serious mental disorder/etc.) It would also mean the person could seek treatment since they'd definitely know about the diagnosis. It obviously wouldn't be foolproof (people can try lie to psychologist, but)

It's a step in the right direction. However, some conservatives don't think that's the case and that Obama wants to BAN guns. No he's arguing for more regulation as in required background checks. Guns will NEVER be banned in this country. It's been in society for too many years but something needs to be changed about the accessibility of guns.

I think it's a situation too where the ones who want guns to be practically banned are, as always, the most vocal and tend to represent the "anti-gun" group (if you will) Likewise, the "pro-gun" symbol tend to be the ones who are the most vocal (and are often really, really stupid) despite the fact there are valid reasons to be skeptical about putting in tons upon tons of gun restrictions.
Though yeah, I think most sane people would agree some basic ones wouldn't be all that big of a deal

Age limit, maybe a basic background check and psych evaluation. I'm not sure doing much more than that would be too effective though
