Is Britney's record even that significant? It's one of those accolades that you either forget or choose to not acknowledge. Even if she does, I do expect strong numbers. It doesn't have to be a milli first week either.
It's significant to non fans because not only have their faves never done it but they want Britney to be stripped of what THEY consider her biggest record/accolade when in fact it's in her top 3/5 accolades.
If JT did 900k. Lady Gaga did 800k+ Taylor Swift did 1M 3 times

She doesn't have that hardcore fanbase like Gaga and TS, but neither does JT.
Adeles fanbase is the GP. It will generate through the power of word of mouth alone! She's probably the most universal appealing female artist among her peers.
Norah Jones did a million with Feels Like Home by the way minus the #1s and hit singles, only the Grammy awards and the blockbluster debut album while Adele has the hype, the hit singles, the enormous sucess of 21, aside from Grammy wins
