Most people went through bullying, harassment, depression, bad relationships, etc on some level in high school. Not everyone, but it's surely common. There's no sense in having a pity party about something that is long behind you.

Think of it as a blessing because you grew from it and you're no longer at that point. I went through so much in HS but it's not like every single day was hell. Y'all need to be thankful.

hon I appreciate you trying to look at the positive side in life but please do not try to force me to call being abused for 4 straight years and actually afraid to go to school because of it a 'blessing'. That is horrendously disrespectful.

It was boring. Friendships drifted apart after a while. Jokes became old. Lunch was getting worse and worse. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Senior Year but that's only because no one was giving any **** anymore so it was less pressure.

High School hasn't even been 'bad' for me as in treated bad, I went through a terrible time, I couldn't handle it, etc.

It's just so boring and unnecessarily stressful. All this work, waking up 7 am each morning, worrying about grades for 9 months, no freedom etc. Like... this **** ain't fun. The friends won't even be there once you graduate, which is really the only fun part.

Even working an average 9-5 job, with freedom, with real friends, and not being consumed with worrying about grades and learning **** I WON'T use at all once I leave HS. > I'm ready.

I wasn't specifically directing it towards you, and I'm sorry if you felt disrespected.

It just feels like everyone on this thread is being awfully negative towards HS and are saying the only people who enjoyed it were the 'cool kids who did drugs.'

Like...idk. I just think HS isn't as bad as people make it. Maybe it was different for you, but it really shaped me as a person.

ok but you just have to understand everyone leads different lives. you can't just assume people that complain about HS are overreacting or "it's not that bad". Some teenagers are going through serious issues, like actual serious issues not just the teen drama **** that you see on TV about breaking up with your bf/gf or whatever. I nearly lost my life in HS because of how awful it was, and I know I'm not the only one.

It had its ups and downs, but overall, it was pretty fun. I have a myriad a great and hilarious memories from that time stored in my mind. I still see my close friends whenever we're all in town, and we reminisce about all the good times we had in high school. My sophomore and senior years contained tons of fun and endless laughter.

In high school I was too young, innocent, and obedient. Now that I'm a young adult I can have more fun and do what I want without being scared of consequences. And I'm still young so I don't have too many responsibilities like full adults. In high school your in a terrible, awkward age, hs sucked, I'm glad it's over.

No ???? I'm not about to talk about the serious issues I went through in HS on ATRL. But I literally struggled in hs. I almost lost my life in hs too, and I get it, everyone lives different lives. I just think most people are being too negative and I wasn't directing it towards anyone specifically but heeey, if the shoe fits.

Well I was finger blasted in the bathrooms a few times so you could say it was.

Junior and Senior Year were definitely highlights of my life but they definitely weren't the best years of my life.

College has given me more freedom to choose what times my classes are and what professors I get and how many classes to take. My GPA in high school was only a 2.8 and there were only two semesters where I didn't have a D or an F on my report card. Now that I have more control I'm actually doing better and my overall GPA is a 3.3. and I'm in good Academic Standing.

And my dogs have been a big part of my life since high school as well. They keep me sane and make my life more important each day.
