The reasoning behind why black people straighten their hair, dye it blonde, etc is because of the fact that for centuries, we have been conditioned to believe that our own hair, hair color, features, etc aren't beautiful. Black people have been held to the white people standards of beauty that have been implemented in this society since the beginning of time. The reason why black people started straightening their hair in the 1900's in the first place was because out natural hair was considered "unkempt" and not presentable. We are literally brought up in this society to basically hate our own hair, skin, etc. It's a very deep and complex issue that has way more to do with trying to be accepted than "wanting to copy white people styles". There is a huge difference between that vs. white people copying black cultures because they think it's cool and trendy
