Thinking she sung the Super Bass chorus is acceptable and understandable, because she did serve background vocals.
Thinking she sung the Hey Mama chorus is completely idiotic.

As I said, most non-stans aren't really that well acquainted with Nicki's actual singing voice, especially when they already think she's capable of that belt on Super Bass. It's really not that much of a stretch.
This whole thing makes NO sense. First of all, I don't think this "3 featuring credits looks bad on radio" excuse is even a thing because TONS of songs with 3+ featuring credits do really well. Give Me Everything (Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer) went #1, F***kin Problems (A$AP Rocky ft. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) went Top 10 and Only (Nicki Minaj ft. Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown) went Top 20 earlier this year. And then like many others have said, if they really want to keep the featuring credits to 2 or less, it makes way more sense to cut Afrojack than Bebe.
And to all the people saying "It's obvious the chorus isn't sung by Nicki" "Only an idiot would think that's Nicki" etc. - you really overestimate how much the general public knows/cares about pop music. Most people's knowledge of pop music is made up entirely by what they hear on the radio and what other people are talking about. If a DJ introduces a song as "David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj" and there's a female singing on the chorus, 99% of people will just assume it's Nicki because they haven't been told otherwise and they don't know enough about Nicki to think that it can't be her.
So yes, I agree this is very unfair to Bebe. This song is almost definitely going to go Top 10 and she's still a completely unknown artist to the general public. This could have really helped spread her name.
Yes they will. A lot of people still think Nicki's doing the majority of the hook on Super Bass. It's not much of a stretch that they'd think she's also on the hook here, too. I don't think most people are that aware of Nicki's vocal limitations as a singer.
WAIt Nicki didn't sing the chorus? Why was she singing along to it in the video? WTF
She makes the song, but serves her right for agreeing with it.
I thought it was Nicki on Hey Mama's chorus before someone pointed it out to me. Reading through this thread, i didn't know it was the same with Superbass too
It's almost the same situation that we had with The Crying Game of Nicki's album, but she fixed the song title to "The Crying Game (feat. Jessie Ware)" after people started to talk about it.

how so? She doesnt sound much different singing in Hey Mama than she does in Turn Me On or Super Bass. You cant expect everyone to recognize her singing voice esp if shes the only voaclist thats credited

Question for the people in this thread:
Before Jessie was credited, did y'all think that was Nicki singing the "where'd you go" & "we're back the playing the crying game" parts?

Nicki SINGS ON HEY MAMA TOO.
Her singing on the bridge is clearly not the same voice on the chorus. If someone is really that stupid to believe it is, that's your fault.

how is it idiotic???
Nicki is known to take on so many personas with her voice
if you hear a song...you expect only the ppl in the title to be the ones on the song...Nicki is the only female name and the GP will think she's singing it
no one pays that close attention when they're listening to music
