They can make money off their work, donations, etc. Or they can sell their models.
The main thing I didn't like was the potential for stolen mods.
One of the first paid mods they released included another guy's work without his permission and had to be taken down.
I see a lot of mods steal other people's work. For example, A3 Life, and those ****s charge for their stolen crap too. And people play it...
And paid mods is bad enough in Skyrim but it would be a disaster in other more multiplayer games (sorry, you have been kicked from the server: must buy RB Weapons and Vehicles pack, $7.99).
