When people like post I know they don't have a clue or were not even alive when Aaliyah passed, she had just successfully launched a film career the year prior and the accompanying soundtrack executively produced by HER was a huge hit and her album launched successfully to rave reviews and good sales despite no hit single. And she had Joel Silver a major hollywood heavy hitter going to bat for her (Romeo producer) already had her in the next Matrix films and she was lining up several other jobs. She would have gone on to create flawless music and always have a platform somehow. She was too damn beautiful and intriguing for her not to have been, there's no way she would be diminished to some sub par C level when her career was always peaking upwards, she never hit a slump just gained and capitalized on her momentum over the 7 years so please have a seat.
I adore Brandy (and Monica) but they climaxed as major urban girls then were already peaking and had nowhere near the level of interest there was in Aaliyah, her film and modelling opportunities were very real
