Chris is the most valid choice, he still gets urban hits but that's it, he could've been massive, I mean Forever & With You were hit WW but the Rihanna incident ruined any chances of become a WW name (Due to his career/music not his messes)

I agree with your overall point but I just want to point out that Las Vegas residencies turn icons into legends. Look through history and you will see this. People downplay the residency so much as if she's just singing a few songs to old cassettes in her local bingo hall...

Name one artist who has had sustained success for 25 years. I'm talking about multi-platinum albums and #1 singles. Literally zero. The fact that Mariah was able to garner a Top 20 single and a lot of buzz for a flop album show that people still care somewhat about her. And don't bring up quality. Me. I Am Mariah might not be her best album, but its nowhere near her worst. It's probably closer to the top if anything. Critics have never been here for Mariah because she is literally one of the only most talented artists in history. She is the only artist that writes and produces all of her own material, in addition to having of the best voices of all time. They are intimidated by that and say she's "boring", "emotionless", "generic", and any other term to dismiss the high quality of her music. She won't be fully appreciated until she's dead because she is held to a much higher standard than anyone else.

They are still selling fairly well. Miley and Demi had their best selling eras and Gaga managed to become critically acclaimed, get a new acting role, and a jazz album certified, she also won a grammy
