No they aren't. The system is set up in such a way that it's hard for them to get a consistent release time. There's probably a bug in the software somewhere or a mistake which takes an act of god to fix.

Absolutely not. Messy rule.

A smash is a smash, and a rule like that would make the charts inaccurate. If people are still buying a song and radio is still playing a song enough for it to be #1, it should count as #1.

And just like that the chart would lose all its credibility. The chart is supposed to show the most popular songs in the country based on streaming, sales and radio. The reason the Billboard charts weren't so accurate years ago was because the sales of a single weren't necessarily reported anymore after a certain # of weeks at #1. The chart is most accurate today that it ever was

I would weigh the streaming so that one On Demand stream equals three Vevo streams; meaning of course On Demand streaming would weigh three times heavier than Vevo streaming.

Not at all lol! Most of us already think cutting off songs after 20 weeks when they fall below #50 on the Hot 100 is too aggressive. While some of us do not want any recurrency rules, others believe the number of weeks before a song goes into recurrency after falling out of the Top 50 should be increased to 26 or 30 weeks, instead of the current 20 week rule.
