A lot of Azealia's songs aren't politically motivated.
Keep doing what you do, Macklemore.

And Iggy tried pop before rap music so thats questionable, but thats other issue.
Macklemore on the other hand is not a bad rapper, he knows his place, and he KNOWS that he's privileged over black artist because of his skin color. Something that Iggy doesnt want to.

You can't try to turn parts of your culture into a commercial product and not expect people to steal / use it. It's rediculous. Do you like pizza? Well I hope not because that belongs to the ITALIANS!!!! do you use Twitter? Well gorl U better deactivate your account ASAP becuz it was made by some white guys !!!!! see how rediculous that sounds?

It's exactly what I meant... Why make music a racial thing if you're not going to sing/rap about racial issues?
Music is universal.

Yes. Black people don't own hip-hop, especially when a great deal of hiphop these days is not socially conscious or political, but just plain ignorant.

Ugh, this "all they talk about in rap is bitches, drinking and money" **** is so annoying. How about actually doing some research instead of basing a whole genre on whatever floats onto the Billboard charts.
OP, there are a bunch of talented white rappers, Aesop Rock, Action Bronson, Mac Miller, Em, El-P, Yelawolf, MGK, Rittz, just to name a few. If they're genuine in their music and are talented, there shouldn't be anything holding them back

There are so many white guys that want to have fame & fortune, so they go down the "I can suddenly rap I have so much talent!" route. They don't wanna work a day in their life - since anyone can rap they pretend they're really good at it thinking they'll make it ![laugh](images/smilies/images/smilies/laugh.gif) funny how virtually all of them are basic as hell, have absolutely no authentic no rapping skills and dress like Homer Simpson. They don't have any passion for rap.
I know this post is vague but I've seen so many people that fit that description. In SYG BabyCantYouSee was posting videos of this obnoxious basic and unknown white guy with embarrassingly bad lyrics, production and raps who sings about "I ain't gonna stop til I be famous getting them pay cheques" ![deadbanana](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana2_zpsd45da7d4.gif) like ugh shut UP, suck some talent out of Nicki's ass.

Why shouldn't they if they have talent?
Why are you guys so selfish?
Maybe and just MAYBE if white people rapping becomes ilegal, then MAYBE I would agree.
PD: My answer is YES to your stupid question.

Yes and let's not act like white people are the sole reason rap's rep has gone downhill.
There are really just a number of mainstream rap artists who can be respected for their songs.
There's Kanye and Eminem right now. Jay has gone a bit down hill. Ya know, I don't even like Em but some of his songs are really good.
Then we have J Cole, Kendrick, Logic, Krit, Cudi (to an extent) to name a few that should garner more recognition.
I think both races should respect rap music. It's not about what it was anymore. Some rappers just do rhymes that doesn't make ****ing sense. It's so irritating to actually listen to and then they top the charts but some artists that truly deserve it remains unknown to majority of the people. It really is sad. I'm still a huge fan until all the artists I mentioned goes wayy off.
Let people do what they want to do, of course respect the culture. Respect everything and that includes the words you're writing. I'm so tired of **** that doesn't make any sense at all.

Yes, they just need to be aware that it'll be easier for them to get mainstream success because they're white, and they should admit it and talk about it. I think this is where Iggy has fallen, she hasn't really talked about the advantages of her being white, whilst other people like Justin Timberlake, Macklemore, Robin Thicke, etc. do.

White people can rap but shouldn't receive special treatment. Both Iggy & Macklemore's music is treated 100x better than it is.

Should black people wear clothes or use products designed by white or asian people?
The world wouldn't function without the merging of races. We live in a society with people of multiple genders and races and if we didn't take, give and share from other groups we wouldn't function.
You can't blame white people for embracing and enjoying things that are associated with other cultures. Maybe people like Iggy feel more connected to the black community than the white community. Nothing is wrong with that.
Nothing Iggy, Macklemore or any white listen of their music is doing is wrong. People by products that they connect with. It isn't there fault that they connect with their own race. Similarly, it isn't their fault if they connect to a different race.
This debate is dumb.

Yeah, saying they can't is beyond racist.

Of course, as Macklemore said; as long as they're contributing, not taking.
People like Iggy shouldn't rap IMO. With her racist comments and lyrics like 'I got a ghetto booty' and that accent of hers, rumours she doesn't write on her lyrics... there's just too much conflict with her being in a black dominated genre.
