41. Jungle - Jungle
Nice and laid-back album, perfect for in the background. All the songs kind of sound the same, but in this case it's okay.
40. Machinae Supremacy - Phantom Shadow
One of my favorite metal bands Machinae Supremacy returned this year with a new album. It's good, but unlike their past albums there was no particular song that really grabbed me. The music they did for the game
For My Brother was much better, I hope that soundtrack is still coming.
39. Ai Otsuka - Love Fantastic
Ai Otsuka is one of my favorite artists and she returned this year after a long hiatus with a new album, sort of. It contains a lot of songs that she had already released years ago. And most of the new ones weren't as great as her old material. Still love her though!
38. Tuomas Holopainen - Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge
The brain behind Nightwish released a solo project this year, and it was very enjoyable. Wish it had a different theme though.
37. Khia - LoveLocs
Everyone knows I am one of Khia's biggest fans, but this year's
LoveLocs was a bit of a letdown. There are still some incredible songs like "Psychic Eyes" and "Fool Proof", but also ghastly ones like "Lazer Pop", and a lot of filler. I appreciate that she's experimenting with her sound though.
36. Anastacia - Resurrection
Anastacia was on top of the world after her self-titled masterpiece, but in the ten years since then she's battled breast cancer a second time, she got married and divorced, and she released three flop albums. The third flop,
Resurrection, was better than the previous two, but she's going to need another "Left Outside Alone", "Sick And Tired", "Paid My Dues" or "One Day In Your Life" if she wants to actually resurrect her career.
35. Kiesza - Sound Of A Woman
I didn't care much for "Hideaway", but I listened to Kiesza's album anyway and was pleasantly surprised. The title track stands out in particular.
34. Paolo Nutini - Caustic Love
When Adele tweeted Paolo Nutini's Abbey Road performance of
"Iron Sky", I checked it out and was blown away by it. It's still so good! The rest of the album was also quite nice, but nothing really compares to "Iron Sky".
33. Junglepussy - Satisfaction Guaranteed
I don't know much about Junglepussy, but I do know that this is one of the best female rap albums out there, and she really needs to put it on iTunes.
32. Coldplay - Ghost Stories
This album is quite underrated, it's by no means their worst. It all sounded a little boring when I first listened to it, but over time the melodies managed to grab me. It's a very solid, very beautiful record.
31. Future - Honest
Not as good as his debut
Pluto,
Honest still contains a lot of jams, and there aren't any particularly weak moments. The only mistake was omitting the masterpiece "Real And True". Just because it flopped doesn't mean you have to hide it.
