I know it may come across as a shocker, but yes Carrie Underwood is the artist of the year.
In Carrie's "off year" she's still managed to win an ACM, BBMA, CMT and AMA award. As well, she reached the summit of the Hot Country Songs chart with "Somethin' Bad" and "Something in the Water". The later makes we want to be baptized by the Lord Taylor Jesus himself and start going to church. Carrie also released her first Greatest Hits collection, which is an incredible way of look at the success she has had over the last ten years. It's hard to believe that she was able to accomplish so much in such a short time period. Here's to another ten years of her dominating the country world, and maybe getting her head out of her a$$ and sending some of her songs to Pop/HAC, and having a healthy career!
