not teachers tho they're literally one of the most important assets a country can have. if anything they deserve a lot more and a lot more work should be put into training teachers (esp. in state schools) and funding education in general

the celebrity idea makes little sense as well. their salaries aren't necessarily arbitrary and as users of a pop culture forum y'all buy into celebrity culture. so long as the masses invest in celebrities then they'll continue to make more money than you.

York offers a Concurrent Bachelor's of Education degree, which will get you an Ontario Teaching Certificate in only 1 year. It's such an amazing degree because I heard other teachers out there spend 4 years for their certificates.
You have to apply now though, this is the last year York will offer it. For 1 year, you get an OTC, and the tuition fee for the entire 1-year program is only $6k.
But the following year, they will turn it into a 2-year degree because the government said the program is way too good, and will turn the tuition fee to $14k for those 2 years.

Teaching is a very respected profession but they are severely underpaid

Professors (depending on the area) are paid much higher salaries for much less work, time, and stress

It kind of is. If a teacher's salary is 40K, they make all of that in 9 months, aka which is more than someone who makes 40k in 12 months, plus a three month vacation where they can travel and/or take up a second job.
