The PS4 is still selling strongly. The Xbox One (for once) did better due to the fact that most people who wanted an Xbox One this year don't own one. Because Microsoft have sold less than a million of them this year. Otherwise they would have increased the sale figures.
The PS4 has sold like 10 million this year alone. People who wanted the console to play the current games, have done so already. Now the people who were waiting for the games coming next year, are buying.
The X1 is much cheaper so people who didn't want to pay full price for the console, can now get it with 3 free games.
So in short, the 2014 gamers have already bought the PS4. And now the 2015 gamers, who are looking out for 2015 titles are buying.
Meanwhile, barely anyone bought the X1 this year so Microsoft have this years gamers who wouldn't pay up and next years gamers who probably won't either.
