I don't think she's revolutionary either when you have people like Rochelle Jordan, SZA, Jhene, Banks and others who have been and still is doing this style without a commercial approach.

Working with Calvin Harris doesn't guarantee a hit or success, furthermore I don't think it's necessarily fair to say she's not 'revolutionary' just because she's more marketable than her contemporaries, especially considering she has several songs in her discography that aren't marketable at all... hell, 'Bet' is kinda one of them. Marketable =/= poor quality, Tinashe just happens to be the most marketable out of that bunch because she can sing, dance, and write quality music herself.

Did I say the quality was bad? Stop being so defensive. She's obviously out to compete with the Rihannas of the world. Calvin will get her more of a pop audience, her first single was a DJ Mustard produced track with rap group of the moment TDE's very own Schoolboy Q who was one of the breakout Hip-Hop acts of the year. I remember someone even posted here that her manager or someone said that there hasn't been a new Urban Pop black girl since Ri and that was their aim.

I think that's the problem when artists present themselves to the general public as something that they are NOT or something that they don't only want to be known as.

Of course the day ones and people who are familiar with her past work will know, but the new fans she gained by the DJ Mustard produced banger will be expecting something different, but she really doesn't have to worry. Tinashe will be fine in the long run. I see big things for her.

****ing slays. this album literally seems to pick up where Black Water left off. I feel like this album will be a perfect mix of the best elements of Reverie and BW. ICWD is trash besides a few songs don't @ me
