Reading the article, I get what they're saying. Iggy is really bringing it with the visuals and the concepts in a way that only Missy Elliott did in the past. Sadly, when Missy was in her prime, there was no money for big international tours and big productions, so her creativity was limited in official videos. Iggy is using her budget to take it one step further
Too early to say
But LBR she has potential to go very very global. The closest rapper to go global was Nicki but she became famous for all the wrong reasons other than her actual rapping. There's a lot of room for Iggy to claim this title.

I agree. No other female is making such quality visual music videos and Iggy is really showing how talented she is, especially in her creativity. The only one that rivals her is Brooke Candy.
Yes. She is making the genre more exciting and adding a lot of new things to it. The people in this thread are trying to discredit this by posting her album sales receipts. The article grades her performance.
Her album is doing amazing though, so I don't see why they're trying it. She's outsold most male rappers that started releasing music at the same time that she did and she's more global than all of them. And she sold all those copies with very little support from the urban community and with a lot of big sites and blogs attacking her for no reason all the time
I mean she's cool and all, but please do not think for a second she can hold a candle to the likes of missy elliot and lauryn hill... OR nicki minaj
what she lacks in flow and bars she makes up with with visuals. it's not necessarily a bad thing but to say she's "eclipsing" accomplished acts such as those listed is a HUGE no no. no. NO.

So Nicki couldn't go global for rap skills but lggy can?

Iggy is expanding the genre...you think people would be happy?
