I agree with almost everything you said, Mazen. But you have to realize that she'd grown up, and that means she is not going to go back to her old type of music. Can you see Britney making another BOMT? Another point, Funhouse is really great, not better than her old songs, but still amazing. Try to listen to "It's All Your Fault", "I Don't Believe You" & "Bad Influence".

What does this has to do with being grown up?

R&B music isn't restricted to a certain audience. Bubble Gum is a different thing.

The real issue is the fact that she had no control over that album. The label had complete control over that first album and she didn't like the music.

Pop/rock is IT nowadays. I don't think if she went back to R&B she would be labeled as a "sell out"
It's a shame if she's not doing it again. Yes, her voice is pretty much diverse and can suit different genres but the R&B sound was still terrific. And she's a great dancer, too. A talent that is going waste with the music she's doing. I don't think she can top "I'm Not Dead" with this pop/rock sound anymore. "Funhouse" was a huge step back. Back to basics please.
And Missundaztood is hella overrated. Nothing was tolerable past track #7 aka the singles.
