That's exactly why i dont wanna download it at this moment. It'll probably slow my other games. The good thing is once you redeem the code, the game stays on your Origin account.

12GB is a STEAL for Sims with the EP and SPs to boot. Hell, Sims 3 is like 4GB by itself with about 2-3 GB for each expansion (and there's 11, girls), not to mention the stuff packs.

12GB is just the compressed download file. The game itself will probably need around 30GB of HDD space.
My Double Deluxe game requires 6GB of HDD space, but the download was just 2GB.

It won't work for Mac because EA didn't publish the Mac version of the Sims. Aspyr did.
