You just don't argue with police. So many of them are assholes. I almost got jumped by a female officer for giving her attitude in my replies to her nasty questioning.
No doubt they'll get away with this because they're white and the dead is black. I'm glad this was actually caught on video, so people of the world can see what really occurred!
Typical cops. It's not really about race either. A lot my white friends were beaten by police for nothing. They even have techniques to beat you so that it doesn't leave bruises. Absolutely disgusting. Rest in peace.
If you listened to the video that's not the first, second, or maybe even third time he has been harassed by the police in such a way. It seems like he probably complied with the officers numerous times and that still didn't prevent him from being harassed. The video clearly shows him reaching an emotional breaking point after experiencing a string of harassments by the NYPD. He said, "Every time you see me, you want to mess with me. I'm tired of it." I'm sure as a white German male that you comply with the police officers and everything goes smoothly , but I'm also willing to bet that you don't get stopped and harassed every time a certain group of cops come through your neighborhood.
I really don't blame him and how he reacted and it's heartbreaking to see him die this way.
And maybe this police officer in the green shirt is a racist, may be, we don't know.
I only saying I think this isn't primary a case of racism, it's more about the police but also the counterpart the citizen in gerneral.
Hell, this is when your society is armed with almost every thing. If I would be an officer in the US. I would probably also see every citizen as a potential enemy, I exaggerate, I know but I think there lays the problem.
Germany has one forth of the population of the US, then look at this video and it's not like we haven't crime or we haven't racist cops,
It is all about race. Police brutality against people of color in major cities has been a widespread and recognized problem since...FOREVER!
We can't sweep the issue of race under the rug.
We need to stop training police officers who hate Black men and can't control themselves.
Yes, race is often part of it but some things are just that way because of probability. For example, I have never had my backpack searched by an officer, but all my brown friends have, and multiple times.
Its because the odds of the perpetrator being black in certain neighborhoods tends to be higher.
Is it right? No. But I can see why.
rbautz, I am American and so is all of my family. I can promise you, policemen in major cities (New York is notorious for this) have a LONG history of excessive force against and abuse of ~people of color~. This is an incident just like thousand of others.
This is disgusting. Just one more example of our corrupted and racist country. It's great that this video evidence exists but unfortunately it will make no difference in the end. The police will not go to jail, and absolutely nothing will be done to make this situation right, like usual. I'm sure the only reason they let those pigs go is because they knew that this video would cause an uproar if they didn't. They will still find some way to make their actions seem justified to the people and to the jury.
There are deeper problems in play here that go far
beyond "proper police apprenticeship" and training.
he's trying to say that the reason there is so much stupidity in the police force because the training they go through is not a rigorous program that properly teaches ethics, techniques, and reasonable force. They also have the problem of being saints in the eyes of their employers until ill will is proven.
Honestly it is a very broken system that fails the American people on so many levels. There really does need to be a public safety reform and have more checks and balances in place to better hold police accountable for excess force and protect the public for idiots like this.
I hope that all the police officers get suspended. I mean, they killed someone over a stupide fight. Disgusting and vile.
