Waiting Period: 12 Years in November
Reason for Delay: Released a Greatest Hits CD, then broke up with her producer/husband after he cheated on her, lost her voice, made a show for Oprah and started a Vegas residency.
My ETA: Possibility of a release date announcement next July, if she doesn't extend her residency.
Artist: Janet Jackson
Waiting Period: 6 Years
Reason for Delay: Lukewarm response to 2008's Discipline didn't boost her confidence after DJ and 20YO's relatively poor performances, she released a Greatest Hits package and went on tour twice, wrote a book and did a few nutrisystem ads, her brother died and she got married.
My ETA: Give it a year or two...
Artist: Britney Spears - "Blackout 2.0 / Personal album"
Waiting Period: On again off again for a while now...
Reason for Delay: No one really knows, I had high hopes for BJ when the the terms "Blackout 2.0" and "Most Personal Album Yet" were thrown around like loose change, but hey... I found out Brit likes Red Wine and Perfume, so thats all that matters, right?
My ETA: You'll just have to wait and see...
Artist: Dixie Chicks
Waiting Period: 8 Years
Reason for Delay: Radio Ban, probably in band fighting although they'll likely never admit it, "solo" projects.
My ETA: No word on them even working on one, so give it a while.
Artist: No Doubt / Gwen Stefani
Waiting Period: 1.5 Years (The way the era went, its more like 12) / 8 years
Reason for Delay: No one really knows, the band seemed to be really into the whole "New No Doubt 2013" thing (they even canceled a tour to work on the album) and then that fizzled... Looks like with Gwen on the Voice theres a strong possibility of (and its been strongly rumored it will happen) a solo album... even though she said it wouldn't happen again.
My ETA: Soon...? Maybe right around the end of the next season of the voice? Pure speculation though!
