You don't have to be a fan of ARTPOP to be interested in Gaga. There are tons of people who don't like her new music but probably want to see what she serves during a performance.

Surely those commercials must have done wonders for her era. 12 million people tuned in just to see her after all.
What's your point? 2012 VMAs (where Rihanna was the "star") dropped 50% yet she had her biggest opening week album sales later that year. Clearly, VMA ratings have nothing to do with a person's album sales.
