Janet is in prime form right now--her voice is great on tour, her moves are flawless and she looks awesome (check my avi). I hope it can all come together with an album written by her, which I would wait until 2010 or 2011 for, although it would be amazing if a truly great album comes from her next year.

Def Jam messed up with Discipline but Janet really dropped the ball with 20 Y.O. She could have really redeemed herself by releasing "Enjoy" as the first single even though it's one of her weakest vocal performances.

I wince at Mariah's album sales because I know this album had potential to sell over 2 million but SHE blew it. "Bye Bye" is not a good song and a forced attempt to recreate "One Sweet Day" while all of the other ballads are carbon copies of "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget Abut Us".

"Enjoy" is a fan favorite but it wouldn't have done anything at all--a bit too campy, too happy, a little bland for the general public. "Call On Me," while extremely boring, was a smart choice because it cinched the urban market and brought her a top 30 hit. "Feedback" was so much better, and it should've showed on the charts, instead of only improving by 6 spaces. I'm excited for the next album if only because her voice is so much stronger right now than it was when she recorded Discipline.

I think "Don't Forget About Us" is a terrible song

I think that "Touch My Body" messed her up. It was such an anti-climatic way to kick off the return of Mariah Carey, and it fell fast at radio. If that song was bigger, then "Bye Bye" would've been huge, and IBLULT could've found some success as well.

E=MC^2 was doomed from the beginning.
