Mississippi always gets the bad rap for being the worst, but Arkansas blows it clean out of the water in terrible-ness. The people are dumber/trashier, the education worse, the quality of life lower, etc. Plus it has mountains where there are inbred hillbillies.
Mississippi at least has Biloxi/Bay St. Louis and MAYBE Oxford. Arkansas has NO redeeming qualities whatsoever.
The South is awesome. For the most part.
I still stand by NJ. I lived there for 9 years and I used to dislike Americans because I thought all of them were like the people in NJ. But when I met people from other states my opinion changed. They were so nice and not judgmental! The difference is really amazing
From someone who doesn't live in the US I can give you a neutral view: If it is not California, New York, New Jersey, Washington State, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Hawaii, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts or Georgia, it is the worst state
I live in Missouri, which despite it's amazing metro areas, is mostly Misery. Kansas is bleak and depressing too but there are way more bigots there than here.
From someone who has actually traveled to many states, I can tell you from experience that the worst ones in my opinion are Ohio, Kentucky and most of the Bible belt. I judge overall by how rude the people are, their laws and their driving.
