"Hurt" was doing better at pop radio than "Tell Me". As far as I remember "Hurt" had more airplay while "Tell Me" had better downloads during their runs, meaning they both stalled for weeks.
I would have to say unfortunately Timbaland's 'Scream.' I think it did well in Canada and other countries, but it didn't work in the U.S. What a shame... I thought it was destined for success...
Aany song with Flopzinger on it is NOT destined to success.
Um, Dig (Incubus) was a top five mega hit which earned Airpower once and Most Increased Airplay twice during its run. I'm not sure what a "flop" is, but Dig obviously was not.
The one big standout from rock that I didn't noticed getting mentioned was the "can't miss" pairing of Green Day and U2. That song could've been the Imagine of this generation, but stalled outside the top 20 on Modern. It wasn't that good of a song in my opinion, but it seemed like it had all of the karma to to take over the country. That's a failure.
"Mainstream radio" = CHR/Pop. "Dig" did not do well on that format.
I can only really say the UK, Maroon 5's Wake Up Call & Won't Go Home Without You both flopped, and Jordin Sparks - Tattoo that flopped too Might have not in other countries but the UK, it sadly did

Well I'll count M5 since that track was a flop in the US as well. Tattoo was a smash here and Tattoo is still climbing in the UK. too early to call it a flop.
