LOOKING FORWARD: With this week's chart still building, here's a glimpse of what to expect from some key debuts on next week's chart, with the usual caveats about how the picture could change in the interim.
Foster the People (Columbia) 55-65k YG (CTE/Def Jam/IDJ) 45-55k Skrillex (Big Beat/Atlantic) 45-55k The Pretty Reckless (Razor & Tie) 30-35k
In other news of the future, Putin will annex Poland, prompting a very sternly worded letter from the State Department. (3/18p)
A exclusive deal with Fuse promoting the album and videos
A premiere in NYC promoting her album
what walmart deal? the brit awards is not based in the US, how is her videos being played on a music channel promo? What premiere took place in NYC? stop making stuff up
But why was Frozen released on DVD when it's still grossing $2m+ every weekend at the box office? And it has yet to reach $400m which I thought they would try and let it do but this will cut into the box office.
The DVD had a set release date. The movie was only expected to make around $600 - 700 mill anyways. Disney could not of predicted it would have the longevity (in theaters) that it would.
Not Frozen coming for the biggest selling album of the year.
I almost don't want Adele to compete with it at the Grammys next year now.
I don't think it has much of a chance.
From what I see on Wiki, the only animated soundtrack to get into AOTY is Beauty and the Beast. It lost.
And the only soundtrack to win is The Bodyguard which benefited a lot from Whitney already being a 2x AOTY nominee, thus being arguably due for a win.
Frozen will be nominated someway. I think "Let It Go" has a chance for SOTY, but the album for AOTY not really tbh . Anyways frozen might be bumped off once the exclusive itunes release comes out.
