Hyper-sentimental Paula Abdul is prepping for her big comeback gig at the Super Bowl -- but it looks like the whole thing could be a golden ticket to her biggest and most public meltdown yet!
A source close to Paula and familiar with preparations tells TMZ that it's going to be "a massive disaster" -- exact words -- and that the whole thing is a "bad, bad idea." The "AI" judgewreck has already lost her voice in rehearsals for the show, and we're told she isn't going to sing live in Arizona (duh). Her vocals, therefore, will be "enhanced." Pitchy keen!
Paula will "perform" her new single -- which is being produced by fellow "Idol" judge Randy Jackson, but we hear that people around her are wondering why she doesn't just stick to her old stuff, like "Straight Up" or "Cold Hearted Snake."
I'm pleasantly surprised at how good this song is. Seriously, this song is actually really good.
The Superbowl idea could be disaster of Britney proportions, unless she just really gives it her all and stays sober. I'll bet if she also does it on Idol, along with a video, she may have her first top 10 hit in 16 years. Cuz let's face it, this is gonna be downloaded like crazy by curious people and new fans.
The superbowl thing is a REALLY good chance for her to prove herself, its her only hope at a comeback at this point. If she rocks it, its going straight for the top 20 leaving Feedback in the dust.
And if she performs it on AI, she's set. Mariah and Janet better watch their backs!
I wonder how hardcore her dancing will be, I remember she has some kind of permanent injury now. But let's remember Paula circa '89 was probably the greatest female dancer the pop industry has ever seen. I mean she was choreographing Janet. No one has since compared to her.
I'm really hoping this turns out to be a really good comeback.
