Gaga pushed this niche into the pop world, and lots of popstars - including Katy - started to become more outlandish with their clothing choices.

Evidence was provided earlier in this thread that Katy wore relatively outlandish outfits before Gaga broke through. I really think some Gaga fans need to stop praising their fave into the high heavens for anything. I generally agree that Gaga made an impact because of her outfits, but she is not the first one to do it, nor was she the pioneer of this from her generation.
