Excuse me for being ignorant to recent news but what shooting is she talking about?
I don't know which one she's talking about, but it's happening almost everyday:
January 17, 2014 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania A student allegedly shot two other students in the gymnasium at Delaware Valley Charter School. Both victims, a male and a female, were shot in the arm. They were taken to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition, police say. Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said at a news conference that the shooter ran out of the school after the shooting but was taken into custody near his home. 17-year-old Raisheem Rochwell was arrested and charged as an adult for aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and firearms offenses.
January 20, 2014 - Chester, Pennsylvania One person was shot and critically injured at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 10:00 pm outside the university sport’s complex and led to an 8-hour university lock-down. The suspect was not immediately found.
January 21, 2014 - West Lafayette, Indiana A 21-year-old student, Andrew Boldt, was shot and killed in a classroom building on the campus of Purdue University. A suspect, 24-year-old student Cody Cousins, was arrested and charged with murder.
January 24, 2014 - Orangeburg, South Carolina A student was shot and killed on Friday, January 24, 2014 at South Carolina State University, a historically predominantly African American university.

And those are just the school shootings. 3 people were killed in a mall today/yesterday
Excuse me for being ignorant to recent news but what shooting is she talking about?
It's probably about most of the recent ones, but earlier today there was one at The Columbia Mall in Columbia, MD, halfway between Washington DC and Baltimore. Kind of scary, I live 10 minutes from there. I'm so glad she took the time to speak up about much needed changes
Glad she's using her social platform to shed light on an important issue like gun control. And she's completely right, it's so horrible that shootings have just become the norm I mean, I'm not even surprised to hear about them at this point
There are many possible options between buying guns in Walmart and the European system of limiting the civilian use to hunters and recreational shooters.
