Starting Monday, October 29th, 2007, JRL Mainstream Top 20 is coming.
The format will be Top 20 + 5 On-Deck. It will be 6 Days (Monday-Saturday). Retirement is 55 Days, athough if an artist/group has a new video out, it can air, provided that the current video is on for 40 days or more. It will be a separate thread, and as a vote-based C/d, just like TRL used to be. It will kick TRL's ass to the ocean.

JRL Adds for the week of 12/31/2007|15Rock Premieres
JRL Voting List Adds for the week of 12/31/2007
NOTE: JRL will not resume from New Year's Eve and Day break until 01.02.2008
Biffy Clyro "Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies"
Coheed and Cambria "The Running Free" [RE-ADD]
Lupe Fiasco/Matthew Santos "Superstar (add when Timbaland/OR retires)
Pitbull " Go Girl" (add when Fergie retires)
Robert Plant/Alison Krauss "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)"
Scaring Kids Scaring Kids "Faces"
15Rock Countdown Premieres
Shiny Toy Guns "Rainy Monday"
Spoon "The Underdog"
Scoring Change in the JRL Voting, effective January 2nd, 2008.
The 1-20 scoring system will stay the same, but you can pick one video out of your 20 to double the points.
Example:
01. Britney Spears "Gimme More" [30]
02. Linkin Park "Shadow Of The Day" [28]
03. Rihanna/Ne-Yo "Hate That I Love You" [26]
04. Maroon 5 "Wake Up Call" [24]
05. Timbaland/OneRepublic "Apologize" [22]
06. Simple Plan "When I'm Gone" [20]
07. Fergie "Clumsy" [18]
08. Alicia Keys "No One" [16]
09. Gwen Stefani "Early Winter" [14]
10. Natasha Bedingfield "Love Like This" [12]
11. Avril Lavigne "Hot" [10]
12. Lifehouse "Whatever It Takes" [9]
13. Daughtry "Over You" [8] [x2] [16]
14. Ashley Tisdale "He Said She Said" [7]
15. Jordin Sparks "Tattoo" [6]
16. Matchbox Twenty "How Far We've Come" [5]
17. Paramore "Crushcrushcrush" [4]
18. Nelly Furtado "In God's Hands" [3]
19. Ashlee Simpson "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)" [2]
20. Plain White T's "Our Time Now" [1]
So, if Daughtry's Over You was chosen as the video to double up the points and its slot was #13, the points recieved would normally be 8, but due to the doubler, it would be 16 points.
Also, you can't double up points for a song that had received 110 points or more from the previous coundown.
Negative voting:
1. Carrie Underwood - So Small
2. Paramore - Crushcrushcrush
3. Lifehouse - Whatever It takes
4. Ashley Tisdale - He Said She Said
5. Britney Spears - Gimme More
6. Katharine McPhee - Love Story
7. Vanessa Carlton - Nolita Fairytale
8. Timbaland/OneRepublic - Apologize
9. Daughtry - Over You
10. Alicia Keys - No One
11. Maroon 5 - Wake Up Call
12. Nelly Furtado - In God's Hands
13. The Killers - Shadowplay
14. Linkin Park - Shadow Of The Day
15. Backstreet Boys - Inconsolable
16. Chris Brown/T-Pain - Kiss Kiss
17. Rihanna/Ne-Yo - Hate That I Love You
18. Matchbox Twenty - How Far We've Come
19. Plain White T's - Our Time Now
20. Fergie - Clumsy
-1. Avril Lavigne "Hot" [-10]
You can pick your song that was in the Top 20 that you want to lose points for, and it's worth -10.
The negative -1 song pick subtractor cannot be used for a song that received less than 40 points in the previous day's countdown.
Both changes to the scoring system will not take effect until 01.02.2008.
Comment on the additions.

I wonder who you stole negative voting from...hmmm......can't quite figure out who
Well that means now I have the right to steal the double points idea which I may eventually use something similar as I like the idea.

Top 10 Best and worst of MTV
Another Subject: The Best and worst of MTV of 2007
The top 2 in the Worst Things of MTV/Fuse/VH1/MTV2 thread ended in a tie, due to 2 very ill-fated moves by MTV which had an enormous impact on ATRL and MTV Networks and their fans. The 2 events happened to be tied were TRL's retooling and Pak's termination of MTV News.
Top 10 Best Things about MTV/VH1/MTV2/Fuse of 2007
10. Fuse: SURS airing a Casey Calvert tribute and the 500th episode of SURS.
9. MTV: Debuting of Juvies.
8. MTV: Hirings of Tim Kash and Kim Stolz in the MTV News department.
7. MTV: Introduction of MTV/MySpace Presidential Dialogues.
6. VH1: VSPOT Top 20 was dominated by Daughtry.
5. MTV2: Attempted to go back to its pre-February 2005 state by playing mostly music videos from mid-June to August, and MTV2 is now back to its crappy state-- sometimes with no vids at all, and YRTD cut back to 2-3 days a week.
4. Fuse: Removing Felicity from the lineup.
3. VH1: Airing Charm School. I love it better than either ROL or FOL.
2. Fuse: Debuting The Sauce.
1. Fuse: Premiered WKUK.
Top 10 Worst Things about MTV/VH1/MTV2/Fuse of 2007
10. MTV2: Changing the Rock Countdown's format.
9. MTV: Significantly less music than 2006. No more ATR (All Things Rock).
8. Fuse: Playing less music, but still better than MTV, VH1, and MTV2 put together.
7. VH1: Pulling music vids completely in favor of marathons during Christmas week.
6. MTV: MTV News firing Gideon Yago in late January. If you thought that the termination by Yago was ridiculous, wait till you see what happened later in the year of 2007 that caused a more well-known MTV News reporter ran out of 1515 (hint: not Loder or Norris), and it's the best one they ever had. I bet Norris snitched MTV News execs to fire Yago.
5. Fuse: Transferring rights to WKUK to IFC, another Rainbow Media-owned network. However, The Henry Rollins Show came to Fuse... with censors, unlike on IFC.
4. Fuse: Showing Daddy's Little Spoiled Girl and other WE ****.
3. MTV: Snubbing Kurt Loder out of the MTV News VMAs lineup card.
---- Major Blunders ---------------
T1. MTV: Reformatting of TRL to favor the Billboard Top 40, instead of solely votes.
This allowed Soulja **** and Flo Rida to be #1, Ashley Tisdale to cheated out of retirement, Armor For Sleep, Paramore, and Jordin jackknived out of #1, but in fairness, it allowed Alicia Keys, Timbaland, Fergie, Nickelback, and Finger 11 to be on the Top 10, which would've never been possible under the old format. The MTV News reporting on TRL... and the show in general, went into the shitter once SuChin Pak stopped reporting. October 3rd, 2007-present: TRL = RIP!
T1. MTV: MTV News "illegally" firing SuChin Pak. Why would any crackhead MTV exec fire Pak? Perhaps MTV News management forgot to ****ing realize that Pak was the best correspondent in MTV News history, and I suspect John Norris told MTV Management to fire the UC-Berkeley graduate (Pak) and Norris should've been fired a long time ago! I guess it had to happen sooner or later, but I wish MTV News wouldn't have made a criminal move to fire the #1 MTV News correspondent of all-time. After Pak left the 29th Floor at 1515 Broadway, MTV News really shark jumped in its coverage and quality. MTV News, for your 2008 wish, why don't you-- once and for all-- fire John "Fascist" Norris! MTV News, the last bastion of decency and of any kind of substance left on MTV, was offcially dead when Pak left MTV. While the 2 new reporters, Kash and Stolz (who I both like) are decent, they can never match, or come close to what Loder did in his heyday or Pak. The Asian-American community and the Korean press is all up in arms over this.
Firing Pak = Death of MTV News and dumb move.
This was taken in the Best of '07 Thread.
