Speaking of those flop bands you're posting. I am actually listening to this Boyband spotify playlist that was in the ads. It has the five in this rate, O-Town, 1D, BTR, All-4-One, Five, Westlife, Blackstreet, B2K, Hanson, Lyte Fnkie Ones (), etc. etc. literally everybody.
Maybe some day you could do a singles rate with ALL boybands debuts.

The lyrical genius of Rich Cronin, may he rest in peace.

Lyte Funky Ones is LFO!
That would be fun, but I don't know if there's enough interest on ATRL. We'll see how this rate goes first.
Can't wait for this. I guess New Edition will have to hold on for their moment in the sun though ...
Sorry, it just made more sense to do it this way in the end. But I should give New Edition due credit for indirectly providing the DNA for all of these boy bands.
Let's celebrate Bobby Brown and friends with "Candy Girl," which would have slayed the competition had it been included.
I was up all night (/shade) doing this, going back and forth between scores and realizing NSYNC really went out on a bleh note with their singles.
Speaking of shade, there was a third single from 98's Revelation: "The Way You Want Me To." (I remember this because it didn't even chart on TRL. It was in the close calls portion for, like, six days though.)
The first line:
Like who wrote this for them? and whose video treatment was baaically a poor man's "Californication"?
