The 4 Galaxy are Android best selling phones, so yes, they break their own record with every new release.
Wonder if the One will even sell half of the S1 its sales.
The One is always on your mind. You mock those who bring up HTC’s name but you do the same. (see Apple wants her coins, thread) I think we can all agree that Samsung can sell but that doesn't mean they can build the best smartphone. I personally never said One would sell more, in fact I know it won't.
The power of mind altering marketing. Yes Samsung create that zombie like following. Apple, her impact.. Her influence!
The only reason the Kindle fire is doing so well is because of its extremely low price, don't forget that.
Samsung's tablets don't have anything "special", even the reviewers agree, yet Samsung tablet share is growing every quarter.
Why ? Marketing.
Why did samsung sell more s4 in 5 days and S3 in 3 weeks ? Marketing.
Why will the S4 outsell the S3 and maybe the iphone 4S ? Marketing.
Why will the HTC One, despite having a totally new revamped UI and being praised by every single review in the world, flop ? Lack of marketing.
That's just the way it is.
It plays a part. The HTC has never been a main contender anyway. A new UI without marketing of course won't sell.
But remember, Samsung were a massive company and the S1 got alot of promo and marketing. But was considered an iPhone clone, that's that.
You can market something all you want, doesn't mean it's seen as a quality product. HTC is exempt because no major push was given. Both Samsung and Apple give thier phones equal promo but one doesn't need a fancy add. One has a black/white background with a picture of a phone doing something, whereas Samsung does all this fancy ****.
Apple literally has always advertised the OS rather than the actual phone and kept it simple. It may be marketing, but look at what Apple market, compared to what Samsung market.

1. This is just not true.
2. There's no difference between the OS and the actual phone in Apple's case because they make the only iOS phone. Samsung does not make the only Android phone. If they advertise just the OS, they're advertising for all their competitors. They have to market THEIR specific phone or they're just giving their competition a boost. Its an entirely different scenario and its ridiculous to act like they're doing something wrong when their strategies are giving them MASSIVE success.

Bingo
And those same "fancy ****" are what made Samsung skyrocket to the first position of smartphone sellers, gets RECORD earnings every quarter since 2011 and last but not least pulls Apple-ish numbers after only 3 phones.

This is a thread about Android SALES => The HTC One is HTC's best reviewed phone to date.
Am I being off topic or reaching by asking if HTC's best reviewed phone can sell half the sales of Samsung's first Galaxy ?
The other thread had NOTHING to do with HTC, that comment was off topic. Don't compare apples and oranges.

And just death at acting like because Apple's adverts are minimal that they aren't still part of a multi-million dollar omnipresent ad campaign designed to sway consumers into buying their product. Like, they still invested a shitload into market research and putting billboards and advertisements everywhere too lets not. The only reason you think they're some humble company is because their marketing campaign worked. You see white space and simple taglines and think "friendly and humble," and you can bet there were 1000s of meetings and millions of dollars in market research dedicated to creating that image.
It's not. Samsung promote the S4 as if it's beating the iPhone already, but it's not. The act like the superior product, but it's not. When you claim out-right that your phone is better than another and yet t doesn't perform as well, that's called digging your own grave.
Receipts?
Your personal opinion isn't a receipt btw.
And yes, continuing to sell even more faster than your previous product is clearly "digging their own grave." Why do I have the feeling you've been repeating this to yourself since the S1?
Kii at some people thinking that last gen's iphone is better than Sammy's next gen Galaxy.
I won't even need to pull out the reviews receipts, that's pure delusion.

I'll never understand it. It kind of reads like inflated self-importance to me. Like "If I like the iPhone better everyone else must feel the same way and no matter what the reviews and sales figures say Samsung is flopping!"
iOS and Android are both great platforms. The iPhone 5 and GS3+GS4 (and even the HTC One) are great products. The GS4 does have better specs than the iPhone 5 but if you prefer iOS that's the way you'll go. But to pretend either the iPhone or GS4 are not doing well, or to pretend that Apple isn't a marketing juggernaut just because you prefer one or the other is so childish.
You guys are so lost in your obsession over a phone your aren't grasping what I am trying to say. Read carefully.
I am neither an exclusive Apple fan or a Samsung fan. I use both. I am looking at this from a realistic point of view.
The iPhone ads market the OS not the phone itself. Samsung don't advertise the OS, they advertise the phone.
Samsung are doing EXTREMELY well in the phone industry. BUT they advertise the S4 like they are they #1 phone.
They aren't.
I'm saying, if Samsung tweaked the OS to look less like standard android and more like something else (aka Kindle Fire) and gave it a massive promo push, it would sell more than the iPhone 4S. The only reason why the iPhone 4S sold as much as it did was the massive promo push Apple gave iOS5 compared to all the others.
I'm not fighting for Apple here, but it's obvious Samsung won't have a iPhone 4S type phone sale until they make the OS unique to the S series, rather than it just being a basic version of android that so happens to replicate the iOS formula in a similar fashion.
When Samsung stop digging their own grave by making out that their phone ***** on an Apple when it doesn't, stop trying to compete with Apple and come up with something original like the iPhone was, and stop worrying about how much hardware is in the phone rather than how it runs the software, then Samsung have a chance.
Until then, Samsung will play second fiddle even though they have the advantage. I've used both an iPhone 4 & S2 (I don't have a phone anymore) and I enjoyed both. I just think the S OS could be more original. And as you can see from the Apple ads, that's where Apple draws people in.
That is all. Nothing about figures and personal opinion comes into this. It's just how Apple have been successful.
FYI, I hate the iPhone 5 so the posts above are completely useless,

Have you not seen the S4 add?
And as a proud owner of the S2 I don't what you are on about. I'm just looking at this from a marketing perspective. It's a phone for god sake. Stop being so walled in your thinking.
Just as CEO JK Shin predicted, Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S 4 topped 10 million units sold in record time. That beats the 50 days it took the Galaxy S III to sell that many, a mark it took 5 months for the Galaxy S II to pass and 7 months for the original Galaxy S. Samsung has been able to crank up production and speed up worldwide rollouts for its increasingly popular flagship models, contributing to the rapidly increasing pace of sales. To help keep the sales channels flowing, Samsung also announced a few new colors on the way. Joining the existing White Mist and Black Forest models this summer are Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, followed later by Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn editions. Of course, the model many will covet is the one with stock Android announced at Google I/O, but that may depend on whether you want your customizations inside or outside.
And as a proud owner of the S2 I don't what you are on about. I'm just looking at this from a marketing perspective. It's a phone for god sake. Stop being so walled in your thinking.
So am I. Its effective marketing. They're selling more than ever.
Your paragraphs and paragraphs about "digging their own grave" based on your feelings are completely pointless because they are selling more than ever. The only point of a marketing campaign is to sell a product and create a brand. Samsung has done that, and you saying they're "digging their own grave" over and over because of some weird hang up you personally have does not make it true.

Apple markets a lot but not even close to as much as even 1/4 of Samsung. Samsung has like 4 ads cycling on TV through every commercial break on most major channels. That's how much it takes.

That still doesn't mean Apple's marketing campaign is small in any way, shape, or form.
